Torngat Mountains
The Torngat Mountains are incredibly diverse both in landscapes and flora and fauna. They are also harder to get to than most high arctic regions. We travel to Saglek Fjord by boat along richly toned mountain slopes slashed by river valleys, magnificent fjords with glistening icebergs and barren islands. Once there, we shoulder our packs and begin a challenging trek through fjordlands onto tundra plateaus. Incredible scenery, possible sightings of caribou and bear make this the trek of a lifetime. We will be hiking in complete solitude in the midst of awe inspiring wilderness.
Please note: We have trekked into the Torngats since 1988. In 2009, after 21 years, we guided our last scheduled expedition. If you have an interested party, we will organize a Torngat Mountain & Labrador Coast expedition as a once-in-a-lifetime trip for you.
