Indian Summer and Polar bears: From Algonquin to Hudson Bay
Leaves turn anywhere from blazing orange and golden to crimson red as we catch the height of the fall colours in Algonquin Park in central Ontario. We explore on foot and by canoe while keeping an eye out for moose and otter while tuning our ears to the haunting cries of loons and wolves.
In Winnipeg we board the Churchill Express for a two-day train ride to the Hudson Bay. Here polar bears await colder weather to wander off on the ice. These arctic lowlands have even more to offer though, as we hike through a unique coastal landscape and stunted spruce in lichen-clad forests. Northern lights blaze across clear night skies to cap our days' outing and with the wind in your face, and crunching snow underfoot, you'll get a real taste of the arctic!
