Ever so often the adventurer in yourself needs to be challenged! Nature Trek Canada prides itself by designing some expeditions that do just that. We are the only company trekking the Torngat Mountains in Labrador, have retraced 18th century explorer Otto Sverdrups travels through Ellesmere Island and were the first to go coast-to-coast in the rugged Brooks Peninsula on Vancouver Island. In 2006 we ‘conquered’ the Hudson’s Bay west coast in an epic trek that even won the respect of the local Dene people. And we had fun all the way! |
The unparalleled variety in natural habitats makes the Yukon a wonderful destination for the lover of true wilderness. Some of the most spectacular areas can only be visited on foot, and the ones we have in store for you do get few visitors. Ever. We first ascend the Slims river towards the immense Kaskawulsh glacier in area of sky-reaching mountains and broad valleys. The real challenge lies in circumnavigating the more northern Tombstone Mountain range. Few people have completed this trek and Lo Camps is one of them. A full-fledged expedition which, if we are lucky, follows game trails and scales flanks towards mountain passes. Our trek will coincide with the sheer blazing colours of fall. We’re in the land of moose, grizzly bear and Dall sheep, likely our only company.
Star-studded skies and flashes of northern lights will shine overhead at night. |
