About
our philosophy
During the past decade, Nature Trek Canada has been at the
forefront of innovative wilderness travel. We at NTC stake ours professional integrity
on our ability to limit our impact on the fragile nature of the places we visit.
What sets us apart is our personal contact with each participant, attention to
detail and our commitment to provide an experience that will last a lifetime.
We aim to create a better understanding for the world's wild places and the sustainability
of the natural environment. |
By bringing people from around the world to
remote areas, we recognize that we are responsible for an increase in CO2 emissions.
To minimize our share in CO2 emissions, we support innovative projects to offset
these impacts through www.greatestplanet.org. We are also committed to making a difference by raising people's
awareness of the state of the earth. |
We feel privileged to welcome participants
back as friends and we work hard to deserve such loyalty. A small organization
like ours cannot afford to make mistakes. So operating Nature Trek Canada for
17 years is a testimony to our commitment and dedication to you.

About
Nature Trek Canada
Nature Trek Canada was founded in 1992 by Lo
Camps and Annemarie Linders. They both are wildlife biologists who have worked
in Canada's North since 1988. They use their expertise to select wilderness destinations
based on landforms, flora and fauna. Nature Trek Canada welcomes a maximum of about 100 participants
every year from across the world, with the aim to make their experience challenging
but safe, inspirational and enjoyable. The small, dedicated organization addresses
the personal needs of its participants and guarantees a high quality and character
for all its expeditions. As a result, Nature Trek Canada has not increased programs
or group sizes since 1998. |
| Lo and Annemarie continue to this day to supervise biological
research by international students in northern Ontario. |

About
our trip prices
Our costs reflect the following:
• Small groups,
from 4 to 9
• All-inclusive, with no hidden costs
• We look after our guides
• We go to remote areas that are expensive to get to
• We offer special
activities and excursions as part of our trips. |
Giving back
1% of our
profit goes to local projects that protect Canada's wilderness and educate people
about its significance. We support The Land Conservancy of Canada (TLC), we are
actively involved in caribou research in Ontario and we give numerous lectures
and workshops every year. |
Nature Education
Lo is involved in educating
children about the environment. He spends a few hours on a nearly weekly basis
with a group of kids, introducing them to natural wonders like 'how do trees grow',
mushrooms, mapping, tracking, and more. Lo is also bringing nature to grade 9 teenagers in an ambitious multi-year program.
Lo is correspondent of Radio Netherlands
and broadcasts the lesser known secrets of Canadian society and regional news
to the world at large every 6 weeks. |
