Lo Camps is the founder and co-owner of Nature Trek Canada. He has focused on the outdoors all his life and has gained a considerable wilderness experience. Lo is a wildlife biologist (MSc), a teacher, and he has worked for many years in the subarctic. Lo has guided exactly 100 expeditions in northern Canada. He brings along a vast knowledge of wilderness, ecology and culture, as well as an unrepentant sense of humour.

Anne-Marie Linders is Lo's partner and an equally experienced outdoors enthusiast and biologist (MSc). She has researched caribou and subarctic ecosystems in Canada and has led tours in BC and Alaska. Anne pulls the logistic strings of NTC's complex web from their Salt Spring Island base.

Lo and Annemarie are the co-authors of a scientific book on caribou, published by McGill University Press.

In 2007, he produced a documentary on the First Nation situation in an Alberta reserve. Nominated for the 16th PANL-awards 2006/2007. Look for his work at www.mikeroelofs.eu. Mike assists with photo expeditions in the North.

Local guides
We do not pretend to know it all! During many trips we engage local experts to come with us. From Inuit elders to local bear biologists and artists. They lend an extra touch to your experience.

In British-Columbia
Gail Bryn-Jones is a school principal, entrpreneur and the mother of 2 teenagers. Gail has guided many NTC trips and has a profound love and dedication to Canada’s wilderness. An enthusiastic and accomplished wilderness traveller, Gail is our woman in the woods!

Sonia Langer is an English and dance teacher who won the Climbing Wall Championships in 2002 on our island (competing against men twice her size no less!) An outdoors person all her life, Sonia brings along her upbeat character, considerable local knowledge and knack for outdoor yoga! Sonia can (and wants) to be found in our high arctic expeditions.

Beth-Ann Masselink lives and breathes wilderness. She is a full-time wilderness guide and expert sea kayaker (currently guiding trips in the Antarctic). Great people skills and a keen knowledge of the natural surroundings make traveling with her a joy. Beth-Ann guides trips in western Canada.

John Herbert is an accomplished sea kayaker and musician. He guides our custom kayaking tours in the Gulf Islands and along Vancouver Island's west coast. John is a father of two daughters and is a professional equestrian trainer throughout the year. Loves good coffee and is a wonderful ambassador for the temperate rainforest.

Ruud van Lieshout immigrated to Canada after working and touring Canada’s West Coast. Ruud will guide custom (kayak) tours along the westcoast as well as lead any expedition throughout Canada. He also plays a vital role in managing and constructing NTC’s Individual Arrangements.

NTC's guides excel at what they do, they are good interpreters and 'people's people' who create the right atmosphere for team work and personal space. Most of our clients rarely travel in a group but choose to go with us because of the places we travel to, and for the opportunity to learn more about them. Many of our trips are in remote locations and guides not only must be able to adjust to ever changing local conditions but, even more importantly, they must be able to make everyone feel safe and comfortable.

NTC's experienced guides add an extra dimension to each trip. They bring fun, knowledge, safety and leadership. Many people come back just to go with them again. After the expeditions are over, we get together to talk about the trips. What we liked, what we really liked and what needs changing or improving. So with your input and ours, we adjust our programs to make them even better and more interesting, year after year.
